We would like to say a huge thank you to all those who took part in our members survey, your input is invaluable and this will have a significant impact on the development work we are currently undertaking on GunsOnPegs. We received over 1000 responses to the survey and the feedback has provided us with an essential understanding of how our members view the service we currently provide and how they would like to see it develop.
GunsOnPegs is home to the UK’s largest online shooting community and is currently receiving significant investment into the improving the website, which will launch in early 2012. Here are just few we are currently considering from the survey:
• More Foreign Shooting
• Section for small teams to find shooting but not having to buy the day outright
• Very last minute deals
• Reviews of Guns, Rifles and Cartridges
• Instructor videos, tricks, tips
• Rating system – whilst it is important we remain impartial we are looking at ways to develop this.
• Sorting the website by value/price of birds
• Shoot friendly pubs directory
• Google Earth/ordnance survey links to see shoot terrain
• Calendar element and being able to share this with your potential shoot friends is something to consider.
We are also developing the ‘social’ and ‘community’ aspects of GunsOnPegs. These features will take some of the best bits of the various well known social sites around and redevelop them to suit a team or individual guns who use GunsOnPegs. These features will involve the ability to share a shoot to friends in a group when organising a trip, follow your favourite shoots for updates and to interact with them, and even see who may already be attending a day if sold on an individual gun basis by the shoot.
We are also looking into providing a payment system for shoot days directly through GunsOnPegs and are currently assessing this system and will be trialling it with a number of shoots.
