GunsOnPegs is super-sizing its stand at this year’s CLA Game Fair, which is being held at Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire from 22 until 24 July 2011. The award-winning website is showcasing the CLA Game Fair’s first ever double Decker stand, comprising of a 2,500 sq ft balcony overlooking both Gunmakers’ Row and the main ring. The upstairs bar will be a hive of activity and open to all GunsOnPegs members, making it a great place for people to socialise and meet other shooting people at the CLA Game Fair.
The enormous stand will have a plethora of activities on offer:
Lots of shoots on the stand
- Here’s the chance to meet shoots at the CLA Game Fair! Whether you’ve shot with them before or you’re looking for a new location for the coming season. It’s your chance to find out more about the shoot and meet the host before being able to book your shooting for the coming season. Over 20 shoots will have pods on this year’s CLA Game Fair stand, with a mixture of game and simulated shooting, UK and international shoots, for all budgets and a great geographical spread.
- We will be selling some quality items from our sponsors Musto and Hunter, each offering a wide selection of shooting goods, as well as William Powell’s children’s range. There will also be items from the GunsOnPegs signature collection.
- Albion, Europe’s largest saddle maker, has branched in to the shooting industry with a new range of shooting products, including top quality leather cartridge bags and gun slips, all made in England, and will be showcased on the GunsOnPegs stand. Albion will also be bringing a leather worker, offering demonstrations of leather work throughout the show.
- We will also be stocking our new product, Communicating Ear Defenders, for those who love a gadget and are looking to make their shooting season that bit more enjoyable!
- A professionally made and realistic grouse butt will be in evidence outside the stand, where pairs can compete against the clock to see how many times they can reload and shoot a pair of guns, as if on a driven shoot. Sponsored by WLSS and Eley cartridges, the guns have been specially modified with the firing pins taken out and snap cap cartridges developed by Eley. With a fantastic prize on offer, this will make someone’s game fair!
- The challenge is to see how many times the pair can reload in a minute, one shooting and one loading. A Top Gear style leader board will display the leaders over the 3 days of the CLA Game Fair 2011.
- A Press conference/Question & Answer session to be held on the Friday afternoon of the CLA Game Fair with a panel from Smiths Gore and GunsOnPegs as well as a couple of shoot owners.
- This is the largest survey of its type and produced some incredibly interesting results in its first year, last year, with nearly every shooting magazine carrying lead articles on the survey. This year’s survey has a much larger sample size and promises to shed some light on very interesting times within the shooting industry as we battle out of recession and tackle spiralling commodity prices.
- The incredibly popular competition that is Spot the pheasant will once again be hosted on the stand, offering much amusement and guesswork when attempting to click on a large TV Screen where they think the pheasant used to be before it was edited out of the photo. A .410 shotgun is on offer to the prize winner, or the closest person over the 3 days of the CLA Game Fair wins. Runners up prizes are on offer each day at Blenheim Palace.
- Friday afternoon/evening of the CLA Game Fair sees the incredible second floor bar and balcony host a GunsOnPegs Members drinks party. This is a chance to meet many other shooting people and chat about the season ahead. The evening will have entertainment with a line up to be announced!
