5000 acres of the best shooting terrain South West Scotland has to offer.. The Estate is perfectly mapped out to show both Pheasants and Partridge at their best. From deep gullies, mature woodlands, to open moorland birds fly high and fast, testing the skill of the guns. With over 22 drives, days are carefully planned allowing for all degrees of marksmanship. Named drives such as The Glen – Broadshores – Lairds Pool, The Mollins and Fairyholme will thrill guns with testing sporting birds. Shooting at Raehills really is exciting with many teams returning each year to re-take the challenge!
Bag sizes vary from 150-400 a day. Single days, back to back days and 3 days plus can also be accommodated. Full hospitality, arrival tea &coffee, a scrumptious shoot lunch and afternoon tea and cakes are all included on shoot days. Our days are informal and relaxed with all guns and guests made to feel very welcome. Transport for the day can be organised. Guns wishing to bring and work their own dogs are more than welcome.
Raehills is centrally located and only minutes from the A74(M), with easy access to both Glasgow and Edinburgh Airports. Travelling from the South by rail, we are close by to Lockerbie & Carlisle train stations. The drive from Manchester takes 2 hours. Close by are many shoot - friendly hotels and B&Bs offering great winter rates. For teams looking for Exclusive Luxury, Lord and Lady Johnstone are inviting guns and their guests to enjoy their home in the finest surroundings, offering you luxurious accommodation and superb home cooking from an award-winning chef with two AA Rosettes and a 4 in the Good Food Guide. Raehills is an historic mansion sitting in 500 acres of stunning parkland and offers nine superbly luxurious bedrooms with private bathrooms. WI-FI is widely available throughout the house for guns needing to stay in touch with work. Kennels are available for guns wishing to bring dogs. For guns shooting at Raehills and on other estates locally, the house is a perfect base to travel from. Oversees visitors are expertly catered for, we offer help in organising Shotgun Permits, Insurance Documentation, Gun Hire and Cartridges. For non-shooting guests, there's plenty to see & do from Golf, Fishing, Falconry and Horse Riding, to Shopping Expeditions to Glasgow and Edinburgh and visiting local historical places of interest.
