Monkhopton Estate Traditional English Country Estate High Pheasant Shoot
The Monkhopton Estate is set in an area of outstanding Shropshire countryside with a interesting history. The house, in its current guise was built in the 1850s and prior to that Monkhopton was owned by the nearby Wenlock Abbey.
Its current owner has lived in Monkhopton House since 1947. In the ensuing years, his father re-introduced a pheasant shoot to the estate.
Throughout the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s, the shoot remained private, having never been commercially let, although building up a reputation as an excellent location for a day’s shooting.
Today the shoot is run semi commercialy with a resident syndicate and a few select days are let.
