Consider These 3 Superb Shooting Opportunities

Wednesday, May 12th 2010

Dear Member,

With nearly 1,000 days available for the coming season on GunsOnPegs, there are some great shooting opportunities available. Here are 3 of them:

Burnworthy Manor Shoot  - At £29.50 per bird, Burnworthy Manor offers some challenging Somerset shooting at a good price. Set amid 2,000 acres of wooded valleys, streams, ponds and meadows in the Blackdown Hills, the shoot offers a unique and friendly setting for a day’s shooting. Days are available for all sizes of teams on 125-300 bird days. This equates to £491 per gun for a 150 bird day in a team of 9. A 300 bird day shooting 9 guns is £983 per gun.

Full hospitality is provided in the lovely Manor House with a 3 course lunch. The aim of the day is to ensure a special and distinctive experience for every visiting team of guns. This of course means that the structure of the day can be altered to suit the needs of a specific team.

Burnworthy Manor is very well located and easily accessible being 15 minutes from Taunton, Junction 26 of the M5 and 10 minutes from the A303. Please click here to contact and for more information.

For single guns, there is a super opportunity to shoot partridge in the Scottish Borders in September. You can shoot for up to 5 consecutive days if you wish with Wilson Young on some the finest quality partridge shoots in the country. Click here for more.

Have you ever been Boar Shooting? 4 guns are available on a trip to a private estate in Germany organised by Stuart Maughn of Whitfield Shoot in December. This is wild boar and on an estate with a fascinating history. Click here for more.

Treat yourself to a new Bespoke Shooting Suit!

GunsOnPegs has launched a range of bespoke tailor-made shooting suits!

Being based in Jermyn Street, we have teamed up with one of the UK’s leading designers, Roubi L’Roubi, to design and produce our new brand.

To quote Marie Scott of Savile Row-Style Magazine, “Roubi has come up with a men’s collection for GunsOnPegs that is classic but stylish, traditional yet contemporary. It certainly won’t frighten the horses, nor the dogs or game, but it may raise some eyebrows amongst more reactionary shoot enthusiasts because it looks so good.”

We have addressed many of the things that bothered us about conventionally designed shooting suits. "They are designed and made to the esoteric requirements of a man and his gun. Jacket backs have the box pleats of a Norfolk jacket that ensure ease of movement, fronts are sans breast pockets that may interfere with a gun’s placement, and a smooth, collarless neckline won’t catch on a gun."

"Made in classically checked Harris Tweeds, each design features meticulous details, such as leather linings to the cuffs, leather piping along the neckline. The jackets may be teamed with breeks that have four-button cuff fastenings, again with leather trim – or there are classic trousers as an alternative for when the shoot has finished."

Do have a look at the designs by clicking here and if you would like to see the range, there is a link on the page to contact for a viewing or fitting.

Best, James and Chris Horne
