Dear Member Gun,

Spot the Pheasant – The Result!
Congratulations to Jolyon Hibbins from Stamford who was joint closest with 3 others, although not spot on, and was selected from a hat as the winner of our Christmas Spot the Pheasant Competition.
There were 3,376 entries into the competition and the original photo can be seen by clicking here. You may be surprised as to how far away you were, we hinted that it was high!
Don’t shoot without insurance!
If you are shooting in January and have guests who are maybe shooting for the first time this season, do make sure that they have the correct insurance in place. If not, the GunsOnPegs Fieldsports Club gives you shooting insurance as one of the many benefits of becoming a member. This is alongside things such as discounts at certain shoots, 10% off at many shoot hotels and 15% off shoot cancellation insurance rates.
It takes only 2 minutes to join online and best of all, you will be supporting valuable research undertaken by the GWCT specifically on the Released Pheasant Appeal for 2011. This is a fantastic piece of research which aims to understand why released birds don’t breed in the wild and also to develop practices and recommendations for all game keepers to use. It is in all our interests that there are more wild birds around after all...

Enjoy your shooting.
Best,
James & Chris Horne
