On the Eastern edge of Exmoor National Park, the Withycombe estate lies in 1500 acres of prime pheasant shooting country. Neighbouring the renowned Miltons Shoot the deep valleys, woodlands and cover crops offer the ideal setting for exceptional high pheasant shooting. Drives such as Burrow Wood, Riddler’s Garden and the Punchbowl, the result of England’s most southerly glacier – offer very well presented birds that will guarantee to challenge even the most experienced guests.
Pegs are drawn at the house, set among the spectacular surroundings of Withycombe’s largest valley and it is just a short trip to the first drive. After the first 2 drives Ham Butties and soup are served back at the house. And after a short half hour or so break off to the next drive. After the shooting a hearty meal is served at the highest point of the farm with breathtaking views back across the moor.
We have been shooting at Withycombe for many years and the shoot has got better and better every year. We always have a great day shooting here and recommend it Great birds, company and scenary a real excellent shoot.
