Pheasant & Partridge days available, date and bag to suit. (Duck drives available to create mixed days)
The Shoot is run over 2500 acres of undulating mixed arable and dairy farmland all of which is in the countryside stewardship scheme with over 25 kilometres of grass margins benefiting game and other wildlife. A 14 acre lake surrounded by woodland dominates the northern end of the shoot whilst the more open undulating south and eastern part is more suited to partridge only (early season) and mixed drives later on.
Around thirty drives are available, many from game cover strategically placed to provide the best birds possible. Maize, millet, sorghum, artichokes, sweet clover and chicory are all used to hold and flush birds from and in some cases provide feed throughout the shooting season.
The drives are pegged for 9 guns but the shoot caters from 8 - 10 as required. Partridge, Pheasant or mixed days are sold, any can be taken with duck drives. There are ample drives for consecutive days.
Refreshments are provided throughout the day, starting with bacon rolls on arrival at the shoot lodge. An optional 3 course meal, with drinks on table and an open bar, can be provided at extra cost.
Evening duck and goose flights can be arranged.
Muntjac stalking from high seats situated in woodland is also available.
All prices on application.

I have been a frequent visitor to the Shoot at Ashby since my childhood and have seen the shoot develop over 20 years. With Gary and Jude at the helm the shoot is the best it has ever been offering a full range of sporting scenarios whether your looking for a full driven Pheasant or Partridge day or want to test yourself with a teal and wild duck flight then Gary and Jude have sport in abundance. The shoot is set around the historic village of Ashby St Ledgers and on many occasions I have have drawn peg 5 on "Freddie's Belt" and stood shooting testing Partridges with my back to the manor house where Guy Fawkes did his plotting.Having been lucky enough to travel the country to the big name shoots with the former owner of the ASL shoot and see what is done elsewhere its testament to the estate and the hard work of Gary and Jude that its still classed as home for him and I.Most people cant wait for the summer months but for me I cant wait for my first visit to Ashby in October to enter the shoot lodge and chat and warm by the fire in anticipation of the great sport ahead . Keep up the good work!!
Mr. Greg Mclafferty
I have visited this shoot on a number of occasions and look forward to returning in the near future. Gary & Jude sucessfully combine modern professionalism and customer service with traditional shooting standards, generosity and values. The shooting, both driven & wild, is of consistant good quality, as is the evening hospitality in the lodge. One leaves with a feeling you've had a fabulous holiday, you don't want to go home!! Kind regards, Paul M
